It is in the province of Santa Clara that the well-known and now deceased Cuban painter, Wilfredo Lam, was born. His cubist style was considered by many great painters such as Picasso and Miro one of the greatest of all times. His work can be found in several major museums around the world (among a few: New York, Guggenheim, Museum of Modern Arts of New York (MOMA) and Metropolitan Museum (MET)).
